About the Event

Throughout the year, students have participated in the sport, beach volleyball, whether it be as part of the Physical Education curriculum, Country Week and/or for fun. To reward students for their hard work and enthusiasm, students will be going on an excursion to participate in the 2nd annual Interhouse Beach Volleyball Tournament. Students will be able to apply all skills, strategies and tactics they have learnt throughout the year in a friendly competition. Based on numbers, each Faction will have 2-3 teams in different divisions and play a round robin style tournament with the top teams participating in a final at the end of the day. All students who have been invited and are at school that day will be attending either as a participant or a helper.

WHEN: Friday 8th December 2023

WHERE: Joondalup Indoor Beach Volleyball (115 – 117 Winton Road Joondalup 6027)

COST: $10

UNIFORM: Students are encouraged to wear a Faction coloured shirt (no singlets or midriff) otherwise normal school shirt is fine. As it is on sand, students will need to take their shoes off to participate and are able to wear thongs, slides or trainers to school. Standard school black shorts/skort/skirt is required.

TRANSPORT: Students will be transported by school bus driven by a qualified bus driver.

BEHAVIOUR: Students are representing Gingin DHS when they leave school grounds and it is expected that ALL PBS Matrix values are upheld. Should there be any major behavioural issues, the school/parents will be contacted and appropriate consequences applied. For students to attend, inconsiderate or irresponsible behaviour that goes against the Behaviour Matrix leading up to the excursion will exclude your child from participating.

MOBILE PHONES/DEVICES: In keeping with the off and away all day policy implemented by the Department of Education, mobile phones SHALL NOT be permitted to, during or from the excursion.

SPECTATORS: Unfortunately spectators will not be allowed at the tournament.

For your child to participate, students will be required to fill out all relevant permission slips. These forms should be returned ASAP. Should you have any further questions regarding the excursion, please do not hesitate to contact me on 9575 5300.
