Primary Interschool Cross Country

If your child has been selected to represent Gingin in the 2024 Primary Interschool Cross Country, they will be competing against runners from Lancelin, Two Rocks, Yanchep Beach, Yanchep Lagoon and Yanchep Rise on Friday 24th May 2024 at the Gingin Golf Course. Students run both as individuals and as part of the Gingin team in each year level.

DRESS: Students must compete in black bike pants/skins or shorts and the school’s cross country shirt provided (singlet or polo depending on size availability). Footwear is compulsory (as light as possible is an advantage, but no spikes).

TIMETABLE: 10.15am arrival, 11am tour of respective courses, 11.30am first race (Year 2 & Under Boys and Girls) commences- with other races following as per order of events.

1.00pm – Presentations.

RACE NUMBER: Students will be required to have a race number on their legs which will be put on by permanent marker. This allows us to identify students on the track should anything happen. If your child has any allergies to this, please contact Louise Devine at the school to discuss alternative arrangements.

PARKING: To preserve the golf course please don’t park on the actual “golf course”.

TRANSPORT: Gingin students will be taken to and from the golf course by bus departing at 10.00am and returning at 2.00pm. If you wish to transport your child privately to this event you may do so. Please indicate your arrangements on the attached form.

FOOD: Students wishing to eat prior to their event will need to do so when they arrive at the Golf Course however, consideration should be taken as to when they will be racing and if they are best waiting till after their event.

CONSENT/MEDICAL: Please complete and sign both excursion and transport consent forms and return them by Wednesday 22nd May 2024.
