About the Event

We will be looking at Space for our Talk 4 Writing unit. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be exploring the different planets in our solar system.

The purpose of the Gravity Discovery Centre incursion is to ignite curiosity and deepen students' understanding of the universe and its fundamental concepts. Through engaging activities and interactive demonstrations, students will explore the mysteries of gravity, celestial bodies, and the vastness of space.

This incursion aligns closely with The Foundation Western Australian Curriculum, particularly in the following areas:

1. Science: Students will investigate the forces that govern the universe, including gravity, through hands-on experiments and demonstrations. By observing and participating in activities, they will develop their understanding of scientific concepts such as motion, energy, and the structure of the cosmos.

2. Critical and Creative Thinking: Students will engage in inquiry-based learning activities that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. By asking questions, making observations, and drawing connections between different concepts, students will develop their ability to think critically and explore the wonders of the cosmos with an open mind.

3. Technologies: The incursion incorporates technology in various forms, from interactive presentations to digital simulations, to enhance students' learning experience. Students will learn how technology is used to observe and study the universe, allowing them to appreciate the role of technology in advancing scientific knowledge.

Overall, the Gravity Discovery Centre incursion aims to inspire students to develop a sense of wonder and curiosity about the universe while fostering their skills in Science, critical thinking, and technology. By exploring the mysteries of space, students will not only deepen their understanding of the world around them but also cultivate a lifelong passion for learning and exploration.

Permission Slip: Below is a permission slip that needs to be completed and returned by Wednesday 15th May 2024. Please indicate whether your child will be participating in the incursion.
