End of Year Concert

The 2023 End of Year Concert will be held at the Gingin Sound Shell this year on Thursday 7th December, at 6.00 p.m. The End of Year Concert is a highlight of the school year and involves all students across the school.

Holding the concert at the Gingin Sound Shell allows all parents, family and community members to attend and see our students shine under the stars!  We would like parents and audience members to arrive from 5.30.

Please bring a picnic rug or low chairs and insect repellent so you can enjoy the show. It will likely be a hot night, so bring water and keep children hydrated. Children will need to find their teacher so they can be checked off as ‘arrived.’

Thanks to the P&C, nachos, sausage sizzles, cold drinks, icy-poles and lolly bags will be available to order on the night from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. There will be limited numbers so get in early.

Classes will perform an ensemble of popular songs in groups around the Literacy inspired theme of ‘Bringing stories to life’. The finale will see all our students perform on stage with a sing-along for audience members. The performance will take approximately one and a half hours. Any parents or community members who are willing to assist with clean-up/pack up duties at the conclusion of concert are welcome and will be added to Santa’s ‘nice list’.

Costume requirements will come from your child’s classroom teacher by the end of November. See the classroom teacher if you have any questions regarding costumes. We have tried as far as possible to minimise costs for parents while at the same time creating a terrific spectacle on stage.

The Kindergarten and Pre-Primary students will be some of the first to be on stage and then they will return to sit with their parents. If necessary, Kindergarten and Pre-Primary students may leave before the finale. The rest of the students have an allocated place close to the stage and will sit in their classes for the whole of the concert.

On the morning of Thursday 7thDecember there will be a rehearsal at the Gingin Sound Shell for Years P – 10. This is a whole-school curriculum-related activity and will commence at 9.00am and we should be back at school by 12.00 pm. This is not a dress rehearsal and parents are not required to attend. Students need to wear sunscreen, bring a hat, their water bottle and some morning tea. Students will travel by bus to and from the Sound Shell.

Because this performance is a whole school performance, and relates to student’s classroom activities during the term, we anticipate that all children will attend. Please let the classroom teacher know if your child is unable to attend the concert.
